The terms land leveling and land grading are often used interchangeably, however KNB Services lists them as two completely types of categories for a reason. While we offer extensive land leveling services, we also offer the more precise final grade services, which are required for foundation work by commercial and residential
A final grade typically occurs after all other land work for new construction has been completed. The final grade adds a layer of soil to the site which has a twofold purpose: shaping, smoothing, and firming of the dirt layer that serves as the site of the foundation, and the creation of surface angles which reduce water pooling and provide for water runoff from the final structure.
The final grade is inspected thoroughly for proper elevation and adherence to the site grading plans, which include slope and drainage information, location of organic elements, and all of the utility information such as power, gas, and water lines. Additional information includes parameters of the space, composition of the dirt which exists on the site, and the property lines of the lot.
For landscape projects, the installation of the topsoil during the final grade is the foundation for your landscaping, as this rich soil provides the basis for the new plant growth. The final grade of a landscaped plot also helps with a stable, dirt surface, which reduces erosion and the ability of the finished graded plot to offer its own irrigation and drainage.
